There is no Victorian meaning for this tropical flower.
Generally, however, Anthurium symbolizes "Hospitality" or
sometimes "Lover." The origin of these meanings is
unclear.
Their genus name, Anthurium, comes from the Greek
words anthos meaning "flower," and oura, meaning "tail."
They have an exceptionally long vase-life (2-4 weeks,
depending on the variety). Anthuriums are most appropriate
in contemporary designs.
